- my poetry · 1) EVERYTHING

Free

She was lilac
She was stained glass
She was midnight
She was rain

She was heaven
She was Hades
She was hiding
From her pain

She was laughing
She was crying
She was totally
Insane

She was gentle
She was wild
She was tired
Every day

She was books and
She was paper
She was pens with
Chewed up caps

She was forest
She was mountains
She was snowflakes
And long naps

She was spirit
She was artwork
She was music
Playing Taps

She was smiling
She was frowning
And she always
Thought ‘perhaps’

She was waiting
She was hoping
But she never
Knew what for

She was childish
She was silly
But not seven
Anymore

She was “grown up”
She was sixteen
Every moment
Was a war

She was timid
She was lonely
She was closing
Every door

She was spiteful
She was selfish
She was cursed with
Jealousy

She was quiet
She was honest
She was loving
And messy

She was travel
She was kindness
She was knowledge
Not money

She was hopeless
She was breathless
She was fearless
She was free
