- my poetry · 1) EVERYTHING

There

Where the trees unfold like ravens’ claws
And the darkness snaps its icy jaws
And the moonlight on my spirit gnaws
My heart will not take flight or pause

When the evening shows her devil face
And the night air flows with chilling grace
And the shadows do each other chase
My heart will not delay or race

But where ghosts of lovers strolled before
And the children played in faerie lore
And the flowers grew on distant shores
There my heart, alas, can take no more
